What will a Coach bring to your team?

A Coach is a person who ignites the fire and passion of others to work together as a team focused on bringing a central idea to life. Coaches bring warmth, energy and inspiration, which lights up the path for others so that they may strive for personal excellence and team success. They excel at understanding people deeply and being tuned to their emotions and what their team really need to overcome challenges.

 

Buzz words for a job description:

People, building relationships, team focused, fire and passion, energy, lead the team, being tuned in, developing talent, training people, inspiring, sales, networking, client engagement, “rally the troops”, “feel the pulse of your team”, active.

What will “land” at interview?

  • Being able to be part of an existing great team
  • To help to develop a team
  • Given trust and autonomy to lead the team
  • Having fun around people
  • Building and developing committed relationships, both internal and external

What will switch them off at interview?

  • Having to work in isolation
  • Detailed work
  • Showing a lack of harmony in the team
  • Working with detail-focused people
  • Criticising their approach to running their team or members of their team

Rewarding a Coach

Tie bonuses to team development and performance, it’s more important than their own individual sales. If they are not in a management position, bonuses can be tied to the value created through their network as well as a “team pot” bonus.
