According to the most recent research only 1 in 4 UK employees believe they are consistently productive at work with 1 in 10 confessing to being unproductive for over 4 hours a day.
The result is that we, as a nation, are lagging behind other G7 countries in terms of output.
So, what can be done?
Every day FRS deals with candidates who have the ‘military attitude’ to work, an ethos built around dedication, commitment, pride and professionalism. In other words, qualities that would enhance the workforce of any organisation.
Our clients tell us that by employing ex-Service men and women they can harness the outstanding technical skills that are acquired during a military career. What they also tell us is that the soft skills that Veterans possess can have an immense impact on the team around them – efficiency improves and, along with it, productivity.
The research referred to above, which was conducted by totaljobs, is well worth a look and you can do so here. A few of principle workplace distractions it mentions are tea breaks, chatting with colleagues and boredom. While the military undeniably thrives on camaraderie and teamwork, discipline and efficiency are what makes it tick.
