Q: Can you give us a brief overview of your military career?
A: I went into the Forces (Marines) when I was 18 years old and served for 20 years, in which time I worked my way up to Sergeant.
Q: What made you chose a career with Charity Link?
A: I stumbled into this career if I’m completely honest. I bumped into a fundraiser in my local town centre and started talking to them. I have always had a passion for animals so this seemed like a good option for me to go down. After 10 years I’m still here and enjoy my role.
Q: What skills and experience from your time in the military have helped you the most in your role with Charity Link?
A: I have a sense of confidence from the armed forces and I don’t easily get flustered - this helps when motivating me to hit my targets daily.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role and working with the company?
A: I enjoy the challenge of hitting my targets, it motivates me to keep going. There is also a feelgood factor with this role as you know that you are making a difference to the cause we are representing.
Q: What qualities do you think ex-military personnel can bring to the team that are different to those possessed by civilian candidates?
A: The principle ones are self-discipline and focus.
Q: Why should other Service Leavers consider a career with Charity Link?
A: Because it’s such a rewarding career to be in.
