How to Write a Job Description for a Custodian Profile

June 19, 2024

As part of my “How to attract top talent with precision & clarity” series, we move on to the COACH profile.

We use a platform called Contribution Compass to profile candidates. When we take the time to understand the profile of the person we want to recruit, we can be smart using the right language to attract that candidate, saving time filtering in the right people and filtering out the wrong people.

What does a Custodian need?

  • To feel like they’re making a difference

  • To feel they belong

  • To feel the rhythm of repetition

  • To feel in control

What will a Custodian bring?

  • They will get stuff done

  • Balance and harmony to the team

  • Lasered customer focus

  • Someone who plays by the rules

Balance the risk

Getting bogged down in day-to-day activities. Struggle without structure. Wants to retain customers at all costs. Don’t like to feel isolated. Don’t deal with fast pace very well.

The type of language to use in a JD

Consistent. Stable. Well-balanced team. Ensure everyone is heard. Nurturing. Balance the team. Repetitive tasks. Routine. Control. Organised. Ordered. Tick off things. Genuine. Structured environment. Time conscious. Maintain team balance & harmony. Supportive. Planning. Customer service
