ARE MORE DEFENCE CUTS ON THE WAY?

• It looks likely that troops numbers will be cut when the Defence Command Paper is published on Monday.

• A cut of 10,000 troops could be coming. It s expected that boots on the ground will suffer due to a £6.6m investment in R&D in areas such as laser weapons and hypersonic missiles to prepare for wars of the future.

• What would happen if troop cuts went through? Can we still protect our nation and assist countries overseas?
